I found it interesting to imagine what a product could be if there were no taboo. ‘Her Flowers’ is partly a product/ partly a piece of furniture. Visually it looks in place, but functionally it feels out of place. The pattern also indicates how something can be seen in different ways.

The project was triggered by the menstrual taboo. As I interviewed people I was surprised by how inconsistent and paradox the taboo seemed. Historically, the myths and facts of menstruation have varied. Today, the taboo is partly maintained by the sanitary product industry, as they profit from creating a need of 'freshness'.
